Medications on Travel Abroad
Rules in Europe (per 2019) too strong painkillers, Sedative drugs og sleep medicine («Narcotic drugs»)
- You must be able to document that the medications are for your personal use
- The label on package / glass, prescription, medical certificate or Schengen certificate
- You can bring your own drugs for up to one month's consumption within the Schengen area
- Outside Schengen area you can bring more, provided you have a medical certificate
- If you buy strong painkillers, tranquilizers and sleep medicine ("drugs") abroad, the maximum amount you can take to Norway is limited to a week's consumption
- Foreign citizens can bring medicines to Norway for up to one month's consumption
- The Norwegian authorities "Legemiddelwerket" in Norway, my grant permits that can be beyond these rules

Immunosuppressants
- Schedule vaccination well in advance of your trip
- Some countries require documented vaccinations (for example against Yellow fever, Meningococci, Cholera and Polio)
- "Live" vaccines (against, among other things Yellow fever) should not be used in immunosuppressive drugs and may prevent travel
- Assess the risk of infection and the possibility of adequate health care at the destination
- Make sure you comply with necessary controls (including blood tests) when traveling longer
